AAGT Scholarships and Grants

We love to give back!

AAGT offers many opportunities to give back to our gifted community in the way of scholarships and grants.

The Integrity of the Scholarship Application Process

  1. All scholarship and grant applicants are required to be, or to be sponsored by, an AAGT member.
    1. Exception:  Applications for need-based scholarships do not require an AAGT member to sponsor the applicant.
  2. Applicants for need-based scholarships will work directly with the Executive Director in order to preserve the dignity of the applicant.
  3. Applicants may apply for more than one scholarship per school year, but may only be awarded one AAGT scholarship per school year, with the following exception:
    1. Teacher tuition scholarship recipients receive one-lifetime amount.

Scholarship Determination

  1. The criteria for choosing the scholarship recipients will be based upon the quality of the content of the application. Please be as detailed as possible when describing your project or the enrichment activity as well as the expected benefits for your student(s)/child(ren).
  2. Once scholarship recipients are determined, the Executive Director will contact the scholarship applicants, notify them of their scholarship status, and disburse the funds appropriately.
  3. Scholarship applicants will receive a response to their application within two-three weeks from the application deadline or the date their application was received.

Scholarship Limitations

  1. AAGT does not provide scholarships for SENG Facilitator Training, but will provide scholarships for attending conferences that support increasing the understanding of the needs of the gifted (ie.:  AAGT, SENG, NAGC, WCGTC, etc.)
  2. Board members do not receive scholarships.
    1. Children of board members are not eligible for AAGT scholarships due to Conflict of Interest.
