We are the voice for AZ’s Gifted & Talented

We are committed to advocating for the diverse population of gifted and talented students in the state of Arizona so that gifted children of all races, cultures and groups have the opportunity to achieve their full potential and, like the phoenix, are able to choose to rise.

To advocate for the diverse population of gifted and talented students in the state of Arizona.

To support the continuous improvement of educational opportunities for gifted and talented students commensurate with their needs and abilities.

Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented (AAGT) is a nonprofit organization of educators, parents and community members working together to better meet the unique needs of our gifted and talented students in Arizona.

AAGT is a resource for the information and guidance necessary for parents, teachers, administrators, counselors, community stakeholders and legislators to develop and support gifted education in our state.  All of us share in the challenge to meet the needs of Arizona’s gifted children with limited funds for their education and development.

AAGT provides an annual conference for parents, educators and community members as well as an annual Parent Institute. In addition, AAGT offers scholarships for teachers of the gifted and scholarships for educational opportunities for gifted students.  AAGT provides continuous support to local affiliate chapters.

Are you interested in serving on the AAGT board?

In February of each year, new members will be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Arizona Association for the Gifted and Talented (AAGT). We are actively seeking nominees with specific competencies and skills. These competencies and skills include: individuals with a non-profit financial/accounting background; individuals with legal expertise; individuals who reflect the ethnic and language diversity of Arizona students; and individuals who are representative of the more rural areas of our state.
Board terms are for two years and begin at the AAGT Annual Conference each year. Accepted nominees will be notified no later than January 24 in order to attend the Annual Conference.
