Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy 4701 W Thunderbird Road, MC 0750 Glendale, AZ 85306 Essential Functions: The successful candidate for the Middle and High School Instructional Professional position at Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy will facilitate learning in a middle and high school Spanish program, focusing on introductory to advanced Spanish. Being a school for highly and profoundly gifted students, candidates will support students in fulfilling their potential for intellectual, emotional, and social growth. In addition, successful candidates will maintain and foster good working relationships with students, parents, faculty, and educational partners. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university in education with Spanish certification, Spanish, or equivalent field
• Three (3) years of successful teaching experience
• Experience teaching middle school and/or high school Spanish curriculum • Ability to present/obtain a valid fingerprint clearance card upon hire

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from an accredited university
• Degree in gifted education and/or gifted endorsement
• Evidence of interest in developing professional knowledge and experience in gifted education
• Evidence of knowledge and understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics, needs, and problems found in gifted students
