Where Connection Happens: Inside AAGT’s April Play in the Park

Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones. On April 11, AAGT families came together for Play in the Park, creating space for connection, creativity, and community across the Valley.
Kids Being Kids (and Then Some)

Kids jumped into games, explored the park, and made new connections. Some followed the planned activities, others did what gifted kids tend to do best and created their own. There was laughter, movement, curiosity, and just enough chaos to know it was a success.
Creativity and Expression

At the activity table, kids had the chance to slow down, think, and share their ideas. Whether through drawings, words, or a mix of both, each child showed up in their own way. And that is exactly the point.
Families Connecting
While kids played, parents connected.
They shared school experiences, talked through challenges, exchanged ideas about programming, and asked the questions that so many families are navigating every day.
For many, this was not just an event. It was a chance to feel seen and understood.
Community Across Arizona

Families joined us from Washington Elementary, Alhambra, Roosevelt, and Avondale school districts, highlighting the reach and strength of AAGT’s growing community.
This is what impact looks like. Showing up, creating space, and building connections that extend far beyond a single morning.
We are already looking forward to our next Play in the Park on June 6 at Pioneer Park in Mesa, this time with splashpad fun included.
We hope you will join us.
