AAGT Congratulates Kristina H. Collins, Ph.D. – NAGC 2021 Early Leader Award Recipient

AAGT sends their rousing congratulations to Kristina H. Collins, Ph.D., who was recently named a 2021 NAGC Early Leader Award Recipient. This award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions in leadership and service to the field of gifted education, and who is in the first 10 years of their career after completion of their last earned degree.

Dr. Collins’ research topics include social, emotional, and cultural contexts of gifted development, making her an excellent choice for one of our Keynote Speakers for Annual Conference. Dr. Collins will be giving a presentation titled “Evolving from Labels to Services” – promoting whole child and SEC responsive development, Collins’ will discuss the importance of implementing talent development approaches that are appropriate for remediation and acceleration while maintaining rigor, depth, challenge, and complexity within the curriculum. Dr. Collins will also discuss how multidirectional and dynamic interactions across systems impact student development and cognitive diversity.
