AAGT Classroom Mini-Grant Recipient – Fort Huachuca Accommodation School District

Fort Huachuca Accommodation School District’s K-8 Gifted Program is ecstatic and grateful to be the recipient of the AAGT Mini Classroom Grant. The funds have been utilized to purchase cognitive and strategic game based learning tools in non-digital format, for use in the 2023-2024 school year and beyond.

The Gifted Program recognizes that Game-Based Learning can be successfully used to improve both learning and teaching, as learning is not just rote memorization. Board games and engineering games are used in the Gifted Program to motivate self learning and problem-solving skills, while building a growth mindset environment, where it is safe to make mistakes.

With your assistance, continued game based learning will help quantitative, verbal, and nonverbal identified gifted students grades K-8 to collaborate, communicate, interact, learn to strategize, and strengthen divergent thinking. THANK YOU!
