2020 Board of Director Seats Open
For over 46 years, the Arizona Association for the Gifted and Talented (AAGT) has become recognized as an effective provider of support to educators and parents of Arizona’s gifted students, as well as an advocate for the needs of these students through legislation.
The next several years promise to be exciting ones for AAGT. The organization will continue to work diligently to support schools and districts in their quest to accommodate the learning differences and the unique social-emotional needs of our gifted children. The Board of Directors play an important role as ambassadors to legislators, business leaders, educators and parents throughout the state to make them aware of the urgency to nurture and ensure that our state’s gifted population will thrive and be productive citizens in our state.
In February of 2020, new members will be appointed to the AAGT Board of Directors. We are actively seeking nominees with specific competencies and skills. These competencies and skills include: individuals with a non-profit financial/accounting background; individuals with legal expertise; individuals who reflect the ethnic and language diversity of Arizona students; and individuals who are representative of the more rural areas of our state.
AAGT is grateful for the shared vision that we have with so many of you for excellence in education for all of Arizona’s students. If you are aware of individuals who have a passion for non-profit work, advocacy and who support this shared vision, please pass this information on to them and encourage them to visit our About AAGT page to view our three-year Strategic Plan, Code of Ethics, Bylaws and Board Application.
We are so excited to add new, passionate members to our board.
